FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Independent Used Vehicle Dealership FAQs

Below are common questions we receive when shopping for a used vehicle. If you don’t see your question here, our team is happy to help.

SHOPPING & INVENTORY

Are vehicles available if I still see them online? Listings may not update in real time

Online listings can take time to update across different platforms and inventory status can change quickly. If you are planning to travel to see a specific vehicle, we strongly recommend calling our team to confirm availability before departure.

Do you hold vehicles? Same-day travel holds may be possible

Vehicles remain available for sale until a purchase agreement is completed and any required purchase terms are finalized. Messages, online inquiries, or verbal conversations do not reserve a vehicle.

If you are traveling from outside the area, we may be able to offer a same-day drive hold after you call and confirm your estimated arrival time. Availability is handled case-by-case and may vary depending on the specific vehicle.

Can I reserve a vehicle with a deposit? Short-term holds may be available

In certain situations, a short-term hold deposit may be available to temporarily reserve a vehicle. Hold availability and timing can vary depending on the vehicle and situation.

When offered, deposits may be completed in person or through our secure online invoicing and payment system. Hold terms are provided before payment is submitted.

Do you take trade-ins? Yes — trades are welcome

Yes. We accept trade-ins and can evaluate most vehicles toward the purchase of another vehicle on our lot.

Trade value depends on several factors including the vehicle’s condition, mileage, history reports, market demand, and what comparable vehicles are currently selling for in the wholesale and retail markets.

To help speed up the process, bringing your title (if available), payoff information, and keys or remotes is helpful.

CONDITION & EXPECTATIONS

Are your vehicles inspected? General operating condition is reviewed

Vehicles are reviewed before being offered for sale to evaluate general operating condition and safety-related items at the time of sale.

If a condition affecting safe operation or major mechanical function is identified during this review, it is addressed as appropriate before delivery.

Because these are pre-owned vehicles, normal wear items and cosmetic conditions are not typically replaced simply to make the vehicle “like new.” Interior wear, trim pieces, switches, upholstery condition, and other age-related wear may remain present.

Vehicle condition can vary based on age, mileage, prior ownership, and maintenance history. All vehicles are sold in accordance with applicable federal and Minnesota disclosure requirements.

Is the inspection a certified or manufacturer-level inspection? Not a franchise certification program

No. Our inspection process is not a manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned or franchise dealership certification program.

It is intended to evaluate general operating condition at the time of sale and is not a guarantee of future performance.

Can I have the vehicle inspected by my own mechanic? Independent inspections are welcome

Yes. Many buyers choose to schedule an independent pre-purchase inspection with a mechanic they trust before completing a purchase.

Please coordinate with our team so the vehicle can be made available at an agreed time.

Why is test driving important? Helps confirm the vehicle meets your expectations

A test drive allows buyers to experience how the vehicle drives, evaluate comfort and features, and determine whether it fits their needs.

We encourage all customers to test drive and inspect the vehicle carefully before completing a purchase so they can confirm the vehicle meets their expectations.

What if I notice something about the vehicle after purchase? Reviewing the vehicle before purchase is important

Taking time to review the vehicle before purchase is an important part of the buying process. We encourage buyers to inspect the vehicle, test drive it, and ask any questions they may have so they feel comfortable moving forward.

Pre-owned vehicles can vary based on age, mileage, prior ownership, maintenance history, and how the vehicle was used. Because of these differences, each buyer may notice or prioritize different features, conditions, or characteristics that matter to them personally.

Reviewing the vehicle beforehand helps ensure it aligns with your expectations, preferences, and intended use.

What should I expect when buying a pre-owned vehicle? Normal wear is part of used vehicles

Pre-owned vehicles are different from new vehicles and may show normal wear consistent with age, mileage, prior use, and prior ownership. This can include cosmetic wear, interior wear, and general signs of use that are typical for a vehicle in its year and price range.

Pre-owned vehicles are not rebuilt, refurbished, or restored to “like-new” condition. Each vehicle has its own history, maintenance background, and level of wear — and part of the buying process is making sure the specific vehicle meets your expectations.

We encourage buyers to take time to review the vehicle in person, test drive it, and ask questions before purchase.

Why can prices vary between vehicles that look similar? Several factors influence used vehicle pricing

Used vehicle pricing can vary based on factors such as mileage, condition, vehicle history, equipment, trim level, market demand, and current market values.

Two vehicles that appear similar may be priced differently due to differences in options, ownership history, maintenance records, or overall condition.

What does “Southern” or “Rust-Free” mean? Climate history and observable condition

These terms commonly refer to vehicles that have spent time in warmer climates where road salt is rarely used. In Minnesota, these vehicles often show less underbody corrosion compared to vehicles exposed to heavy road salt.

VEHICLE HISTORY

Do you provide vehicle history reports? We use AutoCheck

Yes. We use AutoCheck® vehicle history reports and a team member can provide the report on-site.

Vehicle history reports reflect information that has been reported to that service and may not capture every event in a vehicle’s lifetime.

FINANCING & PROTECTION OPTIONS

Do you offer financing? Multiple lender options available

Yes. We work with banks, credit unions, and lender networks to help provide financing options based on your application and the vehicle selected.

What is GAP protection? Optional coverage for financed vehicles

GAP protection may help if a vehicle is declared a total loss and the loan balance is higher than the insurance settlement amount. Eligibility and terms depend on the specific product selected.

What is an Extended Service Contract? Optional mechanical protection

An Extended Service Contract may help cover certain repair costs after the original factory warranty period has ended.
