CARS PROTECTION PLUS

Extended Service Contracts (ESC)

An Extended Service Contract (ESC) helps cover certain repair costs after the factory warranty ends. It’s designed to protect you from unexpected mechanical breakdown expenses and give you more confidence in long-term ownership.

WHAT IS AN EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT (ESC)?

An Extended Service Contract (sometimes called a “service contract” or “extended warranty”) is coverage you can purchase to help with certain repair costs if your vehicle has a covered mechanical breakdown after the factory warranty period.

Important: Coverage, benefits, limits, exclusions, and deductibles vary by plan and contract. Always refer to your contract for exact details.

WHY BUY AN ESC?

Helps With Unexpected Repair Costs
Modern vehicles have complex (and expensive) components. An ESC can help reduce out-of-pocket costs for covered repairs.
Budget-Friendly Ownership
Instead of a large surprise bill, many buyers prefer predictable coverage and clearer financial planning.
Coverage Options for Different Needs
Choose from multiple plan families and levels — from essential protection to more comprehensive coverage.
Extra Convenience Benefits (Plan-Dependent)
Many plans include helpful benefits like roadside assistance, towing reimbursement, and rental benefits (where applicable).

Open a claim before repairs begin
Have the repair facility contact CARS Protection Plus at 888-335-6838 (or use their online portal) to open a claim before repairs are performed.
3
Authorization and next steps
CARS will review the issue and confirm coverage/authorization based on your contract’s terms, conditions, exclusions, and requirements.

Claims and coverage decisions are governed by the language of the service contract. Requirements may include diagnosis and documentation from the repair facility.
